Clinton Culinary is a kitchen incubator supporting entrepreneurs launch their food business by providing affordable space while building connections to market channels, skills, and experience to grow a stable business. Incubator tenants share responsibilities in maintaining the shared space and common area and are encouraged to work together as a business network to build a shared market and customer base. In Clinton Culinary, entrepreneurs work on their menus, pricing, marketing, sales channels, recipes, accounting, and other business planning and operations. We've structured the arrangements for minimal up-front investment and no long-term obligations.

What types of food businesses can apply? Clinton Culinary supports businesses wanting to open a storefront restaurant someday, transition from a food truck to a storefront, transition from catering/farmers’ market/festivals vendor into a storefront restaurant, personal chefs, packaged goods, and food kiosks at Clinton Culinary. We are open to learning about new business ideas and want to make sure our business support and kitchen are a good match for your business idea.
What types of businesses cannot apply?
Due to restrictions in place from the development's financing, any store, the principal business of which is the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption off the premises, is not eligible to apply. The sale of alcohol is permitted by the business with proper insurance and licensing but must make up less than 25% of total sales.

To help you launch a successful business, it is important you have done some business preparation and planning. This means:

- A completed application
- A written business plan
- A written menu with pricing
- Meet with our partner, Padgett Business Services, to receive a complimentary assessment of your business position and readiness to proceed
- Proof of Application/Possess State of Iowa food worker’s card to ensure you have basic food safety knowledge
- Proof of Application/Possess a valid food license

Note that there is no guarantee you will qualify for the terms of business incubation. Your application must be completed in full (including submission of business plan) for the review process to begin.
